Artist Statement — Dream Clouds by Jordan Dolman 2026

Dream Clouds explores the quiet space between consciousness and reverie—the suspended moment when thought drifts and dissolves into feeling. The work emerged from an impulse to translate fleeting emotions into form and color rather than narrative or recognizable imagery. Each layer was guided by intuition, with fluid gestures suggesting both movement and weightlessness, a tension that mirrors the unstable nature of dreams themselves.

The palette—static colours broken by sudden contrasts—evokes shifting moods: serenity interrupted by flashes of clarity or disquiet. Like clouds, the shapes are transient and open to interpretation; they invite viewers to find their own meaning in the abstractions, to project their inner weather onto the canvas.

Ultimately, Dream Clouds is less a depiction than a state of becoming—an attempt to capture that hazy threshold where imagination and memory merge into something neither known nor forgotten.
